Abstract

The development and the control of self-organizing, self-configuring, self-healing, self-managing, and adaptive communication systems and networks are primary research aspects of the Autonomic Networking group at the chair for Computer Networks and Communication Systems. Within the ROSES-Project (RObot assisted SEnsor networkS), these aspects are analysed by a combination of mobile robots and sensor nodes. In order to allow a simple control of these, a graphical user interface is required. In a precedent Bachelor Theses a first version using SWING was already realized. However, this approach has the disadvantage of being difficult to extend. Right here is the starting point for SWT, which was developed in the Eclipse world. The purpose of this Bachelor Theses is to implement a SWT-based, easy extendable graphical user interface in Java which charts the data of the current available robots and sensor nodes. The interface shall be put in operation on a touch screen and a Linux-System. The emphasis of this Bachelor Theses is on a modular design and the elaboration of a concept which affords extension and adjustment of the GUI at a later date.
