Abstract

We are developing an Eclipse-based tool called SYNTONY to integrate such techniques as discrete-event simulation and model-based testing in the system design process based on standardized UML diagrams. Here we focus on simulation and its application for the performance analysis of an AODV model. SYNTONY is capable to process UML2.1 compliant input models consisting of composite structure, state machine and activity diagrams. Perfor-mance annotations using the QoS and MARTE profiles are also allowed. The input model is transformed automatically into executable simulation code based on the OMNeT++ simulation engine. The resulting simulation model follows the informally specified semantics of UML as far as possible. Performance measures are collected during the simulation runs and can be written back to the input model for further analysis.
