Abstract

Der Aufbau und die Beherrschung von sich selbst-konfigurierenden, selbst-heilenden, selbst-verwaltenden und adaptiven hochmobilen Datennetzen ist Forschungsschwerpunkt in verschiedenen Gruppen im Forschungsbereich Kommunikationssysteme. Die zum Einsatz kommenden Komponenten werden dabei immer kleiner und, dank energiesparender Mechanismen in Betriebssystemen, Kommunikationsinfrastruktur und Anwendungen, auch mobiler. Eingebettete Systeme in unterschiedlichster Form kommen zum Einsatz mit dem Ziel, Daten zu erfassen, zu verarbeiten und zu kommunizieren. Eine typische Anwendung sind die sogenannten Sensornetze. Aufgrund der sehr knappen verfügbaren Ressourcen, wie z.B. Verarbeitungskapazität, Speicher, Bandbreite und vor allem die verfügbare Energie, stellen sich neue Probleme und Herausforderungen in Bezug auf effiziente Datenspeicherung und Datenkommunikation. Wir adressieren diese Problematiken mittels Mechanismen, die aus der Molekular- und Zellbiologie bekannt sind. Neben ingenieurwissenschaftlichen Methoden der Autonomen Systemforschung beschäftigen wir uns auch mit bio-inspirierten Verfahren für hocheffiziente Datenhaltung und –kommunikation in verteilten, einer starken Fluktuation unterworfenen Umgebungen. Die Problemstellungen, Möglichkeiten der Lösung und weiterführende Forschungsaktivitäten werden in diesem Papier diskutiert. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Vorstellung des neuartigen Ansatzes, die bio-inspirierten Verfahren im Bereich des 'Pervasive Computing' zu etablieren und erfolgreich einzusetzen.
