Abstract

Nowadays the wireless sensor networks are being used more and more in the industry, agriculture, medicine and even military. Sensor nodes configure themselves to construct network and use sensors to collect data from their environment. The data will be sent back to a basic station. This work is taken by the installed software on the nodes. Normally the software was written to the flash of a node mote and can not be changed. Sometimes maybe we need some new software and they should be installed on some nodes in a network. We don't know which node has which software on it and how to adaptively manage software. One Solution may be the 'On-demand software configuration'. The node has a list of the installed software and they can be updated by a central control station. The configuration of the software on a node will be changed and written back to the same node. This article shows a way of reconfiguration by using profiling mechanisms. A mobile roboter can collect all nearby profiles. Each profile saves the list of software of a node. According to the demand the new software will be dynamic generated and compiled. At last they can be reprogrammed into same nodes. By using this method the software can now be flexible changed and easily managed on the node.
